Value Takes Centre Stage at HaasTec Europe, 2015

Zaventem, Belgium. 22 June, 2015: Haas Automation Europe is pleased to report that almost 1000 visitors attended the recent HaasTec Europe event at its headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.

A total of 17 Haas CNC machine tools performed live cutting demonstrations at the open house, including several, brand new models - allowing visitors to see for themselves the extraordinary value Haas machines bring to manufacturers.

Daily technology-presentations provided insight into the latest Haas developments. Haas executives, including Bob Murray (General Manager Haas Automation Inc), Scott Gasich (VP sales) and John Roth (VP production & operations), all delivered presentations to a receptive audience of customers and interested parties from all over Europe. Also the new Haas F1 car, which is on schedule to make its debut in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship in 2016, took its place in the spotlight, alongside the machines.

“The Haas Automation success story continues apace,” says Haas Europe managing director, Mr. Jens Thing. “The HaasTec event is where we like to share our latest product developments and tell customers about plans for the future, including Gene Haas’ very exciting debut in F1.”

The overriding message was that Haas offers the highest value/quality/performance ratio of any CNC machine tool builder, as well as the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) over the lifetime of a machine. “Our machines are rigid, hardwearing and offer very high machine up-time,” says Jens Thing.

During HaasTec, Haas technicians ran a number of live cutting demonstrations on the latest Haas CNC machine tools. In the case of the new Haas UMC-750SS, a Super-Speed version of the company’s popular universal five-axis machining centre, these demonstrations included showing off capabilities such as a 15,000 rpm inline direct-drive spindle, a high speed 40+1 tool side-mount tool changer, and Haas Automation’s powerful, high speed machining software.

“We’re delighted with the success of the UMC-750,” adds Mr. Thing. “As always, Haas develops its basic machines to offer greater speed and productivity, which is why we now offer the Super Speed version.”

Other new models on display at HaasTec Europe 2015 included the ST-55 large, through-bore CNC lathe, with its 648 by 2032 mm capacity and 318 mm bore, and the GR-712 gantry style router for aluminium, wood, plastics and other, light materials. The ability to turn a small footprint Haas VMC into a cost effective five-axis machining centre using the Haas TRT100 two-axis rotary/tilting table also attracted attention.

Haas began making CNC machine tools in 1987 with a VF-1 priced at $49,900. By the end of 2015 the company will have sold 175,000 CNC machines based on reliable technology, fast service and affordable, transparent prices for products and parts.

“At Haas there is a relentless focus on the addition of value to the customer,” concludes Mr. Thing. “This focus is one of the main reasons why the popularity of Haas machines endures and grows across industry sectors, worldwide.”
